This weekend brings a double whammy of village fairs in Portobello.
On Saturday in Brighton Park, PEDAL’s organic market celebrates its first anniversary. As well as the usual tempting stalls of locally grown or made produce, there will be a pedal-powered cinema yurt, energy Powerpod, and at noon a community picnic as part of the Blasda food feast. Big Things on the Beach will be hosting an interactive human art installation, ToxMe, created by visiting Italian artist Federico Calo.
The organic market will be open from 10.30am until 5pm, and for this special celebration is in collaboration with Take One Action and Edinburgh Woodcraft Folk.
On Sunday, POD are holding the village fair in Rosefield Park from 2pm to 5pm, with a whole afternoon of competitions and activities, and Rowporty will be bringing their hand-built rowing skiffJenny Skylark along for people to get a closer look at her.
