A four-week programme of vegetation management is to start this week on sections of the Roseburn paths, co-ordinated by Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust, and with the support of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
To improve lighting, branches obscuring street lights will be trimmed back where they block the light. There will be some selective thinning of some trees, and crown lifting – removing the lower branches of some trees to let light through and improve sight lines and access. In some arease, overgown undergrowth will be thinned. Precarious trees, liable to blow over in a storm, will be felled.
Disruption to passers by should be kept to a minimum and result in more pleasant surroundings come the Spring.
