The Greenspace Trust will be holding a community drop-in wildflower planting session and guided ‘Dusk Chorus’ walk on Thursday 23rd May at 7.30pm running until roughly 9pm.
Join us for one or both of the sessions – we’ll be meeting at the entrance to the cycleway at Lower Granton Road and Trinity Road at 7.30pm, then walking into the cycleway for a short wildflower planting session at Trinity Station. Then it’s off for a guided walk to listen to and identify the bird sounds along the cycleway. Hope to see/hear a few bats too!
The wildflower planting is part of Grow Wild, a new campaign funded by the Big Lottery Fund that aims to inspire people to get together to transform unloved urban sites, gardens and windowsills into wildlife-friendly wild flower patches. Grow Wild is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and led by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
We’ll have some free Grow Wild planting kits to give away, which includes everything you need to create your own mini wildflower meadow, including seeds, soil testing kit and info guide.
